Fall fun!

Well I know it's not officially fall until Saturday, but it sure does feel like it! I love this season and we have so many fun things planned this fall! I can't get enough of football, Starbucks, runs in the cooler weather and much more!

We have a very busy next few months but I could not be more excited! This coming weekend Mitch is working and I am doing some last minute stuff on our house. We are getting our appliances delivered thursday and carpet Friday!!!!

Over the next few months we will be back in Bentonville a lot (I love NW Arkansas in the fall).  We are going to my father-in-law's grand opening for his new apple store, craft fairs, races and of course a Hogs game! We always try to make it to two or so razorback games a year and this year we may only make one. Tickets went on sale Wednesday, August 1st and I was at the computer at 8:30am getting us tickets! We are going to the Kentucky game and because we didn't know Mitch's schedule we just bought one game for now. We may try to make it to another but most likely just that one. If we weren't in the process of moving into our house we would go to more. We also have tickets to the Thunder basketball game which is coming up next month!

I am kinda bummed because craft fair weekend and OSU homecoming are the same weekend :( My family always spends that weekend in Stillwater for the walk around and the game. And that is also my fall break, so I am glad to have that time off. I am trying to decide what to do, but most likely I will be going to craft fairs.. I can go to an OSU game anytime and I look forward to craft fairs all year ha!

We are also going to be making multiple trips to Shawnee. One of our good friends is now the head tennis coach and I am excited to go watch (and it gives me a reason to eat at Vans and Phoniex). It is so nice that it is only an hour and fifteen minute drive. It makes it easy to just go down for a day.

The weather here this week is wonderful! Todays high is 75 and I just love it (especially for recess ha). My job has finally settled down and the kids are in a routine which is so nice. After the first few weeks, I really didn't know how I was going to do this all year. But there is nothing I would rather be doing and when I get to school every morning and I am greeted with hugs and see all the kids smiling faces, it reminds me why I want to do this so bad.  I know these kids are only 5 and 6 years old, but I pray every day I make an impact on their life. They bring me so much joy and remind me of the simple things in life. But.. I am looking forward to my breaks ha! I love being at work, but all the days teaches get off- they deserve every one of them! My fall break we will be in Bentonville and Thanksgiving break we are going to Colorado!!! I cannot wait to be in the mountains for a week!

Mitch is off until this weekend, so we are preparing the house for the appliances and carpet. I can't believe we may be moving in this time next week! Since we will be in Bentonville the next few weekends, we will most likely move in slowly during the week. Mitch can do stuff on his day off and I can help when I get off at 3. We are hoping to have our bed, clothes and kitchen stuff in so we can start living there, then we can do the unpacking/decorating little by little.

This post really has no meaning, I am just really excited for fall and all the fun things we having coming up!!  I hope y'all are enjoying this beautiful weather and have a wonderful week!!!

New House Renovations!

Well last Friday before we left for vacation we finally closed on our house! This has been the biggest mess ever! We were suppose to close two weeks before that then it just kept getting pushed back and back. Long story, but things just kept going wrong. Once it was done we were so relieved!

So since we weren't able to close and work on our house before we left for vacation that's all we've been doing since we got back. We spent all last weekend, Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday painting it. Mitch's parents came over Sunday and helped us hang all the light fixtures, fans, etc. They look so good and we are just about finished painting. We are just doing little touch ups here and there now.

All we have left now is to touch up the trim and doors, then we will get our carpet installed and finally move in!! I am in love with this house and can not wait to start this new chapter of our lives together in it. We also have to do lots of landscaping outside but we prob won't start any of that until we are all moved in.

Here are some pictures of the house in its beginning stages. I cannot wait to show you the final result!

guest bathrooms- they are painted a dark gray and I am in love with the color!

Laundry room- I wanted it teal so I figured if I was going to do a teal room I was going to go all out and do a dark color. It is really bright, but I LOVE it. Its so fun for a laundry room! And the chandelier may be my favorite thing in the whole house!

Antigua & Barbuda 2012

We're back!! We had an absolute blast and if I told you all about it, we would be here forever! So I will share some of our highlights with y'all! It was so fun and a much needed relaxing break! Friday, after we FINALLY CLOSED ON OUR HOUSE, (I will do a post on this soon) we headed to Dallas. We got their in the evening and headed to eat dinner at our favorite Mexican place in Rockwall. After we ate we went back to Will and Michelle's house and went straight to bed. We had to get up at 2:45 to make out first flight Saturday morning. We were up early and going on about 3 hours of sleep, but it was so worth it when we got to Antigua and got to spend an afternoon on the beach!

We stayed at Sandals Grand Antigua and it was more than I ever imagined! I have always loved Sandals, so I knew it would be nice. We want to try out some other resorts to compare, but it's so hard not to
go to a Sandals Resort. Mitch and I are thinking about trying a different one out in Mexico over spring break or early summer!

We literally spend everyday laying out, swimming, at the beach, and eating. We did some other fun things but that sums up our time there. We also went snorkeling, the jelly fish were everywhere, and did a lot of the water sports they had on the beach (canoeing, kayaking, bikes, paddle board).  We also ate a ton. The food was amazing and we definitely took advantage of the all inclusive! The weather was beautiful it was in the 80's all week although it felt much hotter than that.

Another fun thing we did was film a commercial! A crew was there all week filming commercials and we were in the background of them. But on our last day, the producer came up to Mitch and I and said they needed a couple to be in their commercial and wanted to know if we would do it! Of course we did, and it was super easy. They just wanted to film us at the bar with our drinks. Will and Michelle also did it too! They
told us it was for a morning news station on the UK (similar to our Good Morning America). They are doing a Sandals giveaway and they needed shots. It was a lot of fun!

We left Friday late afternoon and we thought we had two simple flights and we would be back home... We were wrong! We made the LONG flight from Antigua to Miami and had a nightmare of a time trying to make it
through customs. We actually had a really long layover in Miami but with customs we barely had time to grab something to eat and then before we knew it we were boarding. We boarded at 8:30 Miami time and sat at the terminal for 3 hours! They finally let us off at 11:30 and we had to wait in the airport for them to decide if we were staying in Miami until morning or if they could get us another flight. They finally found one so about 12:45 we
left Miami and by the time we landed, got our luggage and drove back to Will's house it was 4:30 when we got to bed! We were exhausted!

This week we have had to go back to reality and started up work again. I was a little nervous to go back, I felt like I just got the hang of things and was figuring everything out then left. But it was all good and I realized how much I missed my kids! They all ran up to me when I got there and we're fighting about who missed me more ha! It was so cute! A few of them drew me pictures and gave them to me. It was so sweet! I am so happy to be back! I am really starting to bond with the kids and getting to know them a lot better. They truly have my heart
and I cant say enough how much I love my job.

Mitch works a few nights this week and this is his first week off orientation! He is really liking St. Francis! We have also been doing tons of work on our house. Like I said, I'll do a post on that soon! I am so excited and can't wait to be moved in!
