Weekend in review...

Happy Monday! I hope y'all have had a wonderful weekend!  Mitch worked all last week and so when Friday came around we were so excited to stay in and enjoy our weekend. Well every 6 months Mitch has to get a tb test since he works in health care... and his came back positive! So instead of staying in on Friday, we made our way to Fayetteville (Mitch's 5th time that week, and my 2nd), and spent the afternoon at the health department. Let me tell you.. I would be perfectly fine if I never had to go to that place again. It was an experience. He will hear from the doctor this Friday, so we will keep you posted. Gotta love the perks of being married to a nurse! Ha!

Since we were in Fayetteville, we decided to just stay awhile, have lunch and enjoy what was left of our afternoon. We went to eat at a place in downtown called Hugo's. It is underground in a basement, and it has a really cool atmosphere!

They are known for their burgers, so thats what I got and Mitch of course got a po' boy. It looked delicious! I found a good po' boy recipe, so if it turns out I will share it!
And.. what is a trip to Fayetteville without a stop at Ricks Bakery! We went and got dessert!

Mitch got his usual, cake in a cup... they always looks so good, but are just too sweet for me! I got some mini cookies! They are my favorite!

That night we went bowling and it was a lot of fun! It has been a while since we went bowling, so needless to say we were a little rusty. We enjoyed it and it gave us something to do besides staying home or going to movies!

Saturday Mitch had to work, and I felt so sorry for him because it was the most gorgeous day!!! It was 75 degrees!!  After all this snow and cold weather we have been having I forgot how much I enjoy a nice spring day! I spent all day outside and loved every minute of it! I already don't like winter and am ready for warmer weather, but after that, I am beyond ready for summer!! I taught tennis that morning, then I went and had lunch outside, ran four miles, and spent the evening reading out on our back porch! It was literally the perfect day!

Sunday, we went to church, and made our weekly trip to Wal-Mart. It was absolutely packed since we are suppose to get so much snow this week! It was pure madness!
We have been trying to save money on our groceries.. so we went through all the ads from the paper and online and actually came up with a ton of coupons!!

We saved about $20, I know its not that much, but for our first time we thought we did pretty good.  And we didn't buy anything extra that we didn't need just because we had a coupon.

We also went running Sunday afternoon. It was a little change from the day before when I was in shorts and a t-shirt running in 75 degree weather! I was about 40 and windy! I hated it! We are training for a half marathon, so we have to run... even if its cold out. I can't do more than 2 miles on a treadmill without going crazy, so I am going to have to get use to the cold. Well... I don't know if I will ever get use to it... it might be better to say, I am going to learn how to deal with it! Ha! Along with the half, I am doing multiple races in AR and OK starting next week and going through June. I have had many of you ask me to post these, so I will get all them together and post them in the next day or so. I am hoping many of you will join me in running them!

Mitch was on-call today and usually never gets called it. But today they called him in around 9. So he had to go to work, but at least it wasn't at 5:30am!
I have been cooking all day and have some yummy recipes to share with y'all! So next post I will be sure to post them!!

Have a great week and be safe in all this crazy weather!!

This past week...

Happy Wednesday! I always get mixed up on my days because for most people the week is half over and today was Mitch's first day back in a while... so to us it feels like Monday! We had a pretty fun weekend and a good start to our week. Last Friday I started not to feel well, but I didn't think anything of it and just tried to shake it off. I had a bad sore throat and the aches and with the flu going around.. I was a little worried!
Mitch was off Friday so we stayed in and relaxed all day! It was nice since I wasn't feeling my best. We didn't get around until noon or so and Mitch made me my favorite breakfast, sour cream pancakes, since I was feeling bad. We stayed in and watched movies and caught up on all our tv shows. That night we were both ready to get out of the house, so we decided to go watch a movie!

I am usually not a huge movie fan, and I like to wait until we can rent it. But lately I have enjoyed going to the movies. And I know Mitch is glad, because he LOVES going to the movies. We went and saw The Dilemma and it was hilarious! We both really enjoyed it and recommend it if you are looking for a funny movie!

When we got home from the movies, I was feelin better so I thought maybe it was a 24 hour bug or something... but I woke up Saturday morning and felt worse! My throat was swollen and my whole body ached! I had to teach tennis that morning... it was the longest 3 hours and I think I went through a whole bag of cough drops. So when I was finished, I went home and went back to bed. I usually am not a big nap person.. I have to be very tired to take a nap, and I slept all day.. So I knew I was sick.
When Mitch got home, we went over to his parents and had dinner since his grandparents were in town. I still felt bad, but I thought getting out might help a little. I was wrong, but I did get some homemade chicken noodle soup, which felt amazing on my throat! I came home and went right to bed.
Sunday, I actually started to feel better. We went to church and then went over to his grandparents house for lunch. They made ribs and I was so glad I was feeling better! They were delicious!
That afternoon, Mitch had church league basketball practice and I stayed home and slept. I can always tell if I am sick because literally all I do it sleep. When I woke up, I felt 10 times better! So Mitch and I watched the Green Bay game and can't believe they won!!!

Every Green Bay game.. he has his "good luck charms". He has had his hat for a long time and I made him the blanket when we first met. Mitch tells me every year the Packers are going to make it to the Super Bowl and this year he was right!! He was so excited!!!
For dinner, we went to Fayetteville and ate at Catfish Hole. We absolutely love that place and since it is in Fayetteville we don't think to go there much.

They have good catfish, but their hushpuppies and slaw are outstanding. I usually just eat a piece or two of Mitch's catfish and mostly eat the hushpuppies and slaw!
Monday we had a very productive day. We made our weekly grocery trip, and went and got library cards. I have been reading a lot and I have just been buying books and I thought there is no need to buy them. So we went and checked out the library and I think I am really going to enjoy it.
When we got home, I started to feel bad again. Whatever I have I can't seem to get rid of it and I can't seem to figure it out. I feel fine, then all of the sudden I feel bad again. So I went to take a nap before my tennis class and when I woke up, Mitch washed, vacuumed and cleaned out my car! I was so surprised!

It was so nasty from all of the snow, and I love the feeling of a clean car!
We ended up having to teach tennis longer than expected, so we ran home and made a snack since we didn't have time to cook dinner and we left for Mitch's basketball game. He is playing on our church leagues team and I really enjoyed going to watch. It was definitely entertaining!

They played against FBC Rogers and they had Matt Jones on their team!! He was the former Arkansas quarterback! It was crazy! This was both good and bad for Mitch. He enjoyed getting to play with him, but he was a ridiculous basketball player. He was actually taller than Mitch... I have watched a lot of Mitch's basketball games and I have never seen him play against anyone taller. Ha!

When we got home, we grilled out burgers and made brownies! Burgers are so easy, and since we didn't have time to eat before Mitch's game, that was an easy solution for a late dinner. After dinner, we made brownies.

Even though these are only box brownies, they are my favorite!! I love them and got Mitch hooked on them!

You can obviously tell what his favorite part of making brownies is? Ha!
We enjoyed are brownies while we watched the bachelor. I am always amazed by that show and somehow always get addicted to it.

Yesterday, Mitch was off, but he had to go into the hospital to get is tb test. Every year since he works in the medical field he has to get one. So I went with him and we went to Jason's Deli for lunch. We went their a lot on tennis trips in college and both really enjoy it.
We then went and spend the afternoon at Mitch's grandparents house. They live in Memphis, but have a house here in B'ville. We really enjoy visiting with them. Mitch's grandma makes ambrosia. For those of who don't know what this it.... it is a juice made with oranges and coconut. There may be more ingredients, but this is all I know. It is Mitch's all time favorite drink! He loves orange juice and claims this is ten times better! Everytime we go visit them in Memphis, he is always excited to get his ambrosia. Over the years, I have come to love it as well!

We also add a little cherry juice and of course a few cherries. I have never made it, but heard that it is extremely difficult. So maybe one day I will learn for Mitch.. Ha! Anyways, his grandma made us a HUGE container of it. We will be drinking it for a long time!!

We didn't have much going on yesterday, and we have both been wanting to see Black Swan... so instead of going to a night movie, we went that afternoon and saw a matinee. It was a lot cheaper and we didn't get out at 10 at night.  The movie was very strange, but good! We both got out of the movie and didn't really know what to think... You should go see it!

We have a pretty relaxing week, and hope y'all do as well!

Exciting news!

So I don't really have much to say tonight expect that we have some exciting news... we are going on a CRUISE!!! We are so excited and I can't believe we are actually going!!
For the past several months, Will, Michelle, Mitch and I have been talking about going a trip together and as of this past weekend, we were planning on going to Vegas. For some random reason, we got on the subject of a cruise and we all agreed we should look into one.
So we spend the past 3 days researching and seeing what was available.  Michelle and I were set on a cruise so we researched it like crazy.

Michelle and I have both been on them before, but Mitch and Will haven't... so it should be a lot of fun!
We found one through Carnival that is a 7 day cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel!!!
Both Will and Mitch surprised Michelle and I with our honeymoon location, which was Jamaica. I honestly never thought I would ever go back, but when Michelle and I saw this cruise we were so excited!! So I think I am most excited about that. I LOVE Jamaica!  I have never been to Grand Cayman, but have always wanted to go! Mitch and I have both been to Cozumel and Cancun before, but it will still be fun to see again. I talked with the travel agent yesterday, so it's officially booked! We are going in September over Labor Day!

Mitch and I are also going on vacation with my family in June. So we are really excited about that too! I have been helping my parents look for condos. It seems like summer is so far away, and when it is snowing like this, it makes me even more excited to go!!

On that note... we got a lot of snow last night!!! At midnight, it still wasn't doing anything so Mitch and I both thought it was nothing, but we woke up to 4-5 inches!!

Mitch usually leaves for work around 6 and he had to leave this morning a little before 5:30 so he could make it. The sun came out later this afternoon, and I am hoping it will melt fast! We have another big chance for snow again on Sunday! Ugh... Winter is only beginning and I am already tired if it!! We couldn't have booked our cruise at a better time... I am really looking forward to warm weather!

I hope y'all enjoy your weekend!!!

Texas!!

Last Friday morning we headed to Dallas to spend the weekend with Will and Michelle! But before I talk about our trip, let me tell you what I did Thursday. I randomly got up the courage to cut my hair. For those of you who know me, I love long hair, and I really don't know why, but I decided I needed a change. I have had really long hair for the majority of my life, and as much as I love it, I just thought a change would be good.  When I walked into the salon and was telling my hair lady that I was going to go short... all the ladies in the salon came running over and they all tried to talk me out of it. Ha! But I was set on cutting it and well I got 7 inches cut off and got bangs!! It is taking some time to get use to, but when it grows an inch or two I think I will really like it! So here is a picture of my new hair...

So now on to our trip! We got up early and left for Dallas around 7. It is about a 5 1/2-6 hour drive so we had to leave early to get there by lunch. When we got there, we met my good friend Elizabeth at the Galleria for lunch. We ate at Five Guys, which is a burger place. I really like it, but it is Mitch's favorite!! So he was excited to eat there.

We stayed at the Galleria and hung out with Elizabeth for a couple of hours. Even though we talk a lot, it is so nice when I get to spend time with her! She also recently cut off all her hair and bought a cr-v. So we are twins! Ha!

Here we are with our identical cars! It was so funny when we both found out!

Later that day, we headed to Will and Michelle's new house! It is so nice!! Moving into a new house is so much fun, but I know it can be super stressful! I know what their going through, but it is worth it in the end! We also got to see their dog Peanut! I love their dog... and it being around her makes me want one so much more!

That night for dinner, we ate at a mexican restaurant and it was really good! And of course after dinner, we went and got frozen yogurt!
The next day, Michelle and I got up and went shopping. We have such similar taste so it is a lot of fun to go shopping together! When we got home, we got ready and headed to Ft. Worth. We were going for Billy Bob's, but wanted to spend the afternoon at the Stockyard District. I have been looking for a new pair of cowboy boots, and they have a Justin Boot outlet there, so we went there, but came home with nothing :( After that we headed to the Stockyards and were going to hang out there until Billy Bob's opened.

After we walked all around, we decided to find a place for dinner. There were a lot of steak houses and we just randomly picked one. It was a good one, not only because the food was outstanding, but when we sat down our hostess had to ask our permission to be in that room because they were going to be filming. It was a pretty small room and in the middle was a huge table and there were smaller tables around it, which is what we were at. We flagged down our waiter and asked him what they were filming and he said an episode of House Hunters!!!! I was so excited... I love that show and watch it all the time! We have yet to figure out why they were in a restaurant, but we didn't care. It was so cool to see! Now we are trying to figure out when it airs!
After dinner, we headed to Billy Bob's. I have been wanting to go for years and so I was pretty excited!

I love country music and line dancing!! When we were in college, Mitch and I would go an hour away to Tumbleweed ... They had two-stepping and line dancing. We loved it!! This place was the same concept except like 20 times larger!! It was awesome! I think I need to move to the south.. I could easily get use to doing that on a regular basis!

On Sunday we were all tired from the night before, so we slept in and stayed inside all day! It was nice to have a lazy day and just relax! Michelle wanted to get some stuff done around the house, so we put the boys to work and went and got groceries for dinner and went to Lowes and picked out all her new light fixtures! I remember picking all our lights out for our house, and when its all done its exciting, but the process is stressful! So while we were there we tried to help out and hung all her lights! Peanut helped me put one of them together...

That night Michelle made us enchiladas, which were delicious and we watched the Golden Globes!
Also that night the Australian Open started, and it is always on odd hours throughout the night.. so if you want to watch it, you usually have to stay up really late. So Mitch and I stayed up and watched a few matches!

Monday we did more shopping! We were planning on going home Monday afternoon, but decided to stay another day! So went to the outlets and did some shopping and made a trip to BJ's for dinner! Mitch and I loved going there for dinner when we lived close to OKC, and we miss it so much! We love their food, but they have one of our favorite desserts there... The Pazookie! It is a large, very undercooked cookie with scoops of ice cream on top!

Between all four of us... it was gone pretty quick!
Tuesday we headed back to B'ville. We had such a good time and can't wait to go back!!
Tonight and tomorrow we are suppose to get a lot of snow. I never know if it will really happen, but I am praying they are wrong! I was telling Michelle I need to go back to Texas where it is warmer and snows less! Ha!

I hope y'all are having a good week!

Is it summer yet?

Hi.. I hope y'all have a great week. This week we had our first snow of the season and not only that but it has been freezing here... literally! Yesterday the high was in the teens and the wind chill was in the negatives! Today it is "warming up".. it is going to maybe reach 30. I don't know about you, but when 30 is warm, something is wrong! I just can't stand this cold... I would so much rather it be 95 year round! I meant to take a picture, even though I hate the snow, I must admit it is pretty!

Tuesday Mitch was scheduled to work, but couldn't make it in because of the weather... so I guess that was one good thing that came from the snow! We were able to relax, enjoy the snow (from inside), and that made it where Mitch only had to work two days in  row this week.  Since Mitch was off, he took a GRE practice test, which took about 3 hours. While he was doing that, I baked him some homemade chocolate chip cookies!

It's so hard when he has a day off to let him spend 4-5 hours by himself to study. Most people, get off work at 5 and then have the whole evening to do stuff, and Mitch leaves at 6am and gets home at 8pm, eats dinner and goes to bed. So on his days he works, I don't see him much and then now on his days off he is studying. It is bringing back NCLEX memories... but at least this one isn't as bad or stressful as NCLEX was.

Wednesday Mitch went back to work and I once again spend the day inside, because I didn't not want to get out in the cold. I bought a new workout video... we are still doing p90x, but there are just some days I really don't feel like doing it, so I bought a Dancing with the Stars workout video and did it yesterday and loved it. Its so much fun and a change from doing p90x everyday. It is a video where you learn dance routines and I think I like it so much because I danced for 16 years and it is something I love to do.

I also have been in the crafty mood lately, and for most of you who know me, I am not a very creative person, but I saw this really cute project online and thought I would try it. I went to Hobby Lobby and got everything and spend the day inside with apple cider and arts and crafts.. Ha!

It didn't quite turn out like the picture, but it was a lot of fun and gave me something to work on! Maybe I will get better over time :)

Last night when Mitch got home, we went and ate at Acambaro, a local mexican restaurant. I think we both could eat mexican food everyday and not get tired of it.
Today, Mitch is at work and I am pretty busy! I have found a couple more jobs that I am excited about to apply for, and we all know that process can take all day! I also am teaching tennis this afternoon and then this evening I get my haircut! I love getting my hair done!! When Mitch gets home, we also have to pack, because we are leaving for Dallas early in the morning!!! We can't wait, and I am hoping it is a little warmer there!! I can't wait to spend some time with Michelle... Christmas was just not long enough! We also get to see their new house! I am also getting to spend some time with one of my best friends from school, so I can't complain.... it is going to be a pretty good trip!

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

Home Sweet Home

Hi! It has been so nice to relax at home this weekend. We have been all over these past few months and we were so glad to stay at home for a weekend! We love seeing family and friends, but we hadn't spend a weekend at home since October!! Since the holidays are over, things are starting to slow down, and hopefully we can relax and spend some time at our house.

Mitch worked Friday and Saturday, so he couldn't enjoy the weekend as much as I did, but it was still nice not to travel anywhere. Friday for dinner, we went out to dinner for Will's birthday. We went to the Marketplace and it was so good. Mitch met us down there when he got off work. After we enjoyed some yummy food and dessert, Will came over and they played the PS3 sports game. It was so funny watching them play!

It was nice to get to spend some time with Will, we haven't seen him much since he moved to Texas.
Sunday, we went to church and then my parents came over to have lunch with us. My mom's birthday is today, and since we have been going to Tulsa so much, they came over her to celebrate with us. We went to Johnny Brusco's and had some delicious pizza! I meant to take a picture, but for an appetizer they have something called garlic knots, and it was small bread sticks rolled into a ball and covered with melted butter and lots of garlic. They were so good! I will be going back just to get those!! The pizza was really good too, it was New York style, so it was very thin and crispy.

Then we went and got coffee and Starbucks. Now I know where I get my coffee obsession, my parents drink it constantly! Ha But it was good, especially since it was so cold out! We then came back to our house and just hung out for a while. It was nice to see them.

Since Mitch and I have been gone and so busy the past couple of months, we put sweats on, lit a fire and just relaxed on the couch all day. I usually like to be out doing stuff, but I think we both needed a lazy day. We watched a lot of tv and of course the Green Bay game. Mitch has always been a huge Packers fan, so over the past 4 years, I have found myself watching lots of NFL football and I am actually starting to like it! I think I am officially a Green Bay fan :)

Okay, so maybe not as big if a fan as Mitch.. ha! This is him during the game, cheering on the Packers!
After the game, Mitch told me that he wanted to take me out for dinner, and he surprised me and took me my favorite restaurant.... Shogun! We have one here in Bentonville, but neither one of us had ever been to the one in Fayetteville and it sits up on a big hill and has a gorgeous view! And not to mention it was snowing.. it was so pretty and of course we enjoyed our dinner!

You get more food than you can imagine... we will have left overs for the next few days :)
Today, we haven't done much... just been trying to get things done before Mitch goes back to work. Instead of going to Wal-Mart, we went to Sam's Club and it was so nice to be able to buy in bulk and their meat and fruit is so much better. We will be doing that more often.

Over the past two days it has been snowing. I am not a cold weather fan, and I like the snow for about the first 5 minutes and then I am ready for it to melt and warm up!! It snowed a little here yesterday, just enough to cover the ground, and it has snowed off and on today. But right now it is snowing hard!!  We were suppose to go out with some friends to a pizza place to watch the game and Caleb can't get out of his driveway ha! So I guess we will stay in and watch the game. That is just one reason why I don't like this weather.

Well we had some really good recipes to try and since we had two birthday's to celebrate, we went out a lot this weekend and will have to try them this week. But tonight we made burgers...

Mitch's uncle makes the best burgers, so we tried to make them. He mixes dry onion soup mix and sour cream with the meat before grilling them. I am not a huge hamburger fan, but these are so good! Here is Mitch out grilling burgers in the snow ha! You can't tell, but it had just started snowing really hard.

I also made Mitch's favorite dip to go along with the burgers. It is just a tomato basil mix with sour cream and cream cheese. My mom got me this cute little tennis ball bowl and I was excited to use it for the dip!

Well I started back teaching my tennis classes today, and let's just say they are going to be a handful! There are so many little four year olds that think they are pro's at tennis, but can't seem to hit the ball. It is going to be a long session!
We really enjoyed spending this past weekend at home. We never realized how tiring traveling can be. Tonight we are watching the championship game. I never thought I would say this, but Go Auburn!!
I hope y'all had a wonderful Monday and the rest of your week is great!

Ready for a new week....

Hi! I hope you all are having a good week. Our week wasn't as good as we would of liked. We took down all our Christmas stuff, watched our Razorbacks loose in the Sugar Bowl, and Mitch started studying for the GRE. Three things that don't make for a very exciting week. Lets just say its been a LONG week, and I think we are both ready for the weekend.

Tuesday we spent all day taking down our Christmas stuff. We had so much stuff and it took forever!! It was a long day but we did get to have lunch at Marketplace, so that was nice! They have a special we always get, two eat for $19.99 and you get an appetizer, bread, salad, entree and our favorite.. a chocolate mess for dessert! It was so good!

After lunch we spend the rest of the day finishing putting our Christmas stuff up and cleaned our house. We did that until the Arkansas game. I love Christmas time and having the house all decorated, but it feels so good have it all put up and a clean house!
We went over to Mitch's parents house to watch the game. The first half was so ugly. We knew we were playing a good team, but we didn't think it would be that bad. We left at halftime and went home. We watched the rest of it and thankfully they turned it around. The end of the game was a disappointment, but at least it turned out to be better than the first half.

Also, over the past month, we have been trying to decide what Mitch should do about the GRE and yesterday he finally decided to take it. Not all the schools require it, but just to be safe he wants to take it. We had such a hard time deciding because it is such a big test and it will be a huge time commitment. We have already went through all this when he was studying for the NCLEX, and he studied all the time, so we had to think about a lot of stuff. But in the long run, I think it will be good for him. So yesterday, we researched all the best books to get and then went and bought them.

He already scheduled his test, so he knows what all he needs to do in that time frame. He is taking it May 23, so these next 5 months are going to consist of a lot of studying, and that way if he needs to take it again, he can take it in August and still get his scores buy the end of the year.
Since Mitch will be spending most of his time studying, I bought me something while we were out buying his study books. I really enjoy reading, so I invested in some Nicholas Sparks books. The first one I am going to read is The Wedding.

I am excited to start reading, and I am hoping to read all of his books.  I have been helping Mitch with the english/vocab, but the math is all up to him! I love english and we are learning all the vocab words together, so hopefully it will be easier for him.

Last night we tried a new recipe for dinner. It was Loaded Twice Baked Potatoes and Broccoli Cheese Soup. It turned out really good, but Mitch suggested next time using steak instead of ground beef. I will post the recipe at the end.

After dinner, we worked on more GRE flashcards and then took a break to play tennis. We both really enjoy playing and thought it would be a good break. I enjoying playing singles, and even though I played against Mitch, I had a good time. We made a bet the loser buys a sunday at Braums, and well I lost, but I did win four games! So I guess I owe Mitch some ice cream.

Mitch worked today, so I have just been running errands and getting stuff done around the house. Tonight we did our p90x workout, then went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Will's birthday with Will and Caleb. It was nice to hang out with them!

Hope everyone has a happy Friday!

Loaded Twice Baked Potato Recipe
4med. russet potatoes
8 oz lean round beef
1 cup broccoli, chopped
1 cup water
1 cup shredded reduced fat cheese
1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 scallions, sliced
1. Pierce potatoes all over with a fork. Place in microwave and cook for 20 min.... turning once or twice until the potatoes are soft.
2. Meanwhile, brown meat in a large skillet. Transfer to a large bowl. Increase heat to high, add broccoli and water to the pan, cover and cook until tender; drain broccoli and add it to the meat.
3.Carefully cut off the top 1/3 of the potatoes. Scoop out insides into a med. bowl and place the potatoes shells in a small baking dish. Add. 1/2 cup cheddar, sour cream, salt and pepper to the potato insides and mash with a fork. Add scallions and the potato mixture to the meat and broccoli. Stir to combine.
4. Evenly divide the potato mixture among the potato shells and top with the remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Microwave on high until filling is hot and cheese is melted, 2-4 min.
*We only made 2 potatoes and not four, so we halved the recipe.

Goodbye 2010...

Happy New Year!! I can't believe 2010 is over.. so much has happened and it all flew by! Mitch started his job as a nurse, we graduated college, got married, vacationed in Jamaica, moved into our new house in AR, saw Garth Brooks in concert and got a new car!! We are very blessed and I'd say this year will be hard to top!

I hope y'all had a good new years. This past weekend we went back to Tulsa and were able to spend some much needed time with friends we don't get to see much! We went back Thursday night after Mitch got off work and by the time we got there, we went straight to bed. He had worked the past three days in a row and was exhausted. Friday we got up and had to run some errands, and we also go my car washed and detailed! I love the feeling of having a clean car. Our salesman at the Honda dealership made us a deal where anytime I want me car washed and vacuumed out, to bring it in and he will do it for free. He does my mom's too and I don't think he knew what he was getting into... we definitely take advantage of that!

Later that afternoon, Mitch had a bachelor party to go to, so I drove him to one of his friends house. I was kinda bummed I wasn't getting to spend our first new years eve married with him but I know he doesn't get to see these guys much and I was going to spend time with some friends as well!

Mitch had a great time with the guys!  They had a bonfire and played laser tag, which I was very jealous.. I love laster tag! I went out with Katie and Tommy and we went to Buffalo Wild Wings. We stayed the until the Thunder game was over and then made our way to Chili's to get some dessert! Chili's has one of my favorite dessert!

It was yummy! We hung out there for a while, then I headed home to watch the ball drop with my parents. Mitch also surprised me and called at midnight... I didn't think I was going to talk to him, so even though I wasn't physically with him, I still got to bring in the new year with him! We both had a great new years and it was so nice to be able to spend the night with great friends. I miss seeing these people everyday!

New years day, I went and picked Mitch up and we had a big lunch with my family. My dad fried fish, potatoes, and much more! It was all so good. Since we weren't able to celebrate new years eve, we celebrated that afternoon.

We were both a little tired, but we had a great time. We were talking the other day how in college staying up until 2 was no big deal, and now we can barely function the next day... crazy how things change.. Ha!
That night we went to our good friends Callen and Cassie's wedding. It was the cutest wedding and we loved getting to see them get married. We also we reunited with a lot of our friends from school and that was so nice!

I have missed these two girls and wish I could see them more often!

All the OBU ladies... I loved catching up with them all.

After the wedding, Katie, Tommy and Shannon all came back to my house and we watched the end of the Thunder game and the OU game. I wish we could all hang out every weekend :)

Sunday we had lunch with my parents at The Brook and then headed back to B'vill. We got into Springdale around 6, so Mitch took me to eat at Jose's Mexican Restaurant. I had never been there before, but heard from a lot of friends it was good.
Mitch was suppose to be on call for today and when we got home last night, he already got a phone a call saying they were going to need him in the morning and so he got everything ready for work and we were both tired from a busy weekend, so we laid in bed and watched tv for the rest of the night. It was nice to relax and do nothing. Mitch ended up getting a call at 5 this morning that he didn't have to come in. We were both so happy!!  We have SO many things to get done these next few days!!

Today, we were out all day trying to get things done. We had a very busy, but productive day. We are looking forward to relaxing at home this weekend. While we were out, we bought some new movies!
Mitch loves movies and I am obsessed with tv series. I love to collect all the seasons of my favorite shows. I can watch them over and over again and never get tired of them!

This was the only season of One Tree Hill I needed to be caught up with my collection! And it was only $15... so I had to get it!!
We have more stuff to get done tomorrow and then we are looking forward to watching the Razorbacks play!! For the past few weeks, the game has been the talk of the town... It is the only thing you hear about! But it is fun to be living in nwa during this exciting time! To get in the spirit, I wore one of my new razorbacks shirts today.

This is one of the Arkansas shirts Mitch got me for Christmas! Its so comfy and I love wearing it!
Tonight we made pasta for dinner. It is always an easy meal when we are busy.

We do have some new meals to try out this week, so hopefully they will be good and we can share them with y'all!
Mitch set up his play station 3 tonight and has been playing it for the past hour. I will never understand video games :)

He was pretty excited, it is all he has been talking about since he got it!
I hope you all have a great week. Mitch has the next few days off.. I am excited to spend some time at home with him!
