Colorado!

Hello! Sorry it's been awhile. I can honestly say these past two weeks have been the busiest weeks I have experienced... well right behind the week of our wedding ha! So let me give you an update on our lives...

Last thursday, I left for Denver for a marketing conference with the doctors I work for. I was a little nervous about going... I haven't been away from Mitch since we've been married and it just being my first business trip was kind of weird. But it turned out to be a lot of fun!! We were in the conference most of the time, which was very interesting, but on our time off, we were able to see a lot of Denver! And not to mention, I LOVE the mountains!! It was so amazing to get up in the morning and drink my coffee while looking at the mountains!! Before we left we looked at the weather and it was suppose to be cold and snow, well it was opposite! It was mid 60's the whole time we were there! Beautiful weather... it was actually colder here in Bentonville.

Thursday night we had got into Denver a lot later than we expected, and having to be up and ready by 6 was a little tough! But I enjoyed it and the conference ended saturday night, and we were able to spend Sunday exploring the area. We probably walked all over that town. We were out all day, but it was nice to just relax and not be stuck in a conference room all day! Since Sunday was my birthday, the doctors were going to buy me a massage/mani and pedi, but since it was Sunday, everywhere was closed. So we didn't get to do that while we were there. But I seriously work for the best doctors.. they are awesome! I loved getting to spend those four days with them and their little boy, Jude. He is the cutest little boy! If only Mitch would have been able to come.. it would have been ever better :)

We ate at some really cool restaurants and did some fun stuff. I can't wait to take Mitch back there for a weekend. We stayed right in downtown Denver at the Curtis Hotel, it was right in the middle of everything and was so nice. I attached the link.. if you ever are in the area you should check it out!

We came home late Sunday night, but almost didn't make it home. For some reason they overbooked our flight and guess who were the two that they chose at "random" to not get on the plane. Yes... it was us! We watched everyone board our plane and finally they said they had two people not show so to hurry and get on! Since we flying into XNA, we were on a tiny plane... we literally had to run out onto the runway to get on it.. no terminal or anything. Well when we got on, they ended up only having one seat. So we were trying to figure who goes and who stays, and as much as I did not want to stay in Denver by myself for another day, he was the doctor and needed to get home to see the patients. He didn't want me to stay, so finally a girl offered her seat up for us. I was so thankful! I just wanted to giver her a big hug.. ha! I was so ready to get home! I could blog on and on about my trip, but that was it in an overview!

Mitch had a good time while I was gone. I tried to get him to blog for me, but he "didn't get around to it" ha! He did a lot of stuff around the house, organized our garage, and of course played a lot of golf! He also surprised me at the airport with flowers and when I got home he gave me my birthday present! He got me a new glee cd and nike plus!! I have been wanting the nike plus so bad, and I can't wait to start running with it!! It is awesome!

Ever since I got home, I have been working like crazy! I had my first event Tuesday night and it went so good!! I was a little nervous, but I had a lot of fun and thats probably a good thing since in the month of April I thing I have about one every day! I have booked so many and will be super busy, but I guess that's a good problem to have :)

On a different note, this was also one of the hardest weeks. My best friend, Natalie, lost her cousin and it has been so hard to see her so heartbroken. Her cousin, Cody, has fought cystic fibrosis for 19 years and is now pain free! I was able to go home Wednesday night and be with her and went to the funeral today, but had to come back for work this afternoon.

Sorry I have no pictures... it has just been too crazy. But thats a little update on us! I hope y'all have had a great week and enjoy your weekend!

Quick Update!

Hello and happy Wednesday! Mitch and I have both been very busy these past few days! Mitch worked Monday, had Tuesday off and worked again today. On his day off Tuesday, he ran so many errands and got so much done for me. He was busy all day, but he did make time to come and take me to lunch! I also love when he comes in for his adjustments so we can have lunch together :)

I have been super busy at work! I think I am finally getting use to being in Fayetteville by 6:30 every morning... but working 10 1/2 days is tough at times. I do love getting my Friday's off.. it is totally worth it! Yesterday, we had a lot going on and I didn't even get home until 7:15!

Tonight I should be packing, but no I am blogging instead :) I packed a little when I got home, but didn't finish, I am regarding that decision. Now there is stuff everywhere and I hate being unorganized! I am only going into work for a couple hours tomorrow to make some calls and then we are headed to Denver. We have a conference starting Thursday and going until Saturday, but our flight to come home does not leave until Sunday night. I am hoping to find some fun things to do Sunday, especially since it will be my birthday!!

Last Monday night, Richard, Sam, Jenna, Bryan, Mitch and I all went to P.F. Changs to celebrate my birthday! We had a lot of fun and there's never a dull moment when were all together :)

Here are the girls! I am so blessed to have met these them. They have made the move so much easier for me! We all get along so well and I love our weekly get to-gathers :)

Now, Mitch's birthday isn't until next month, and I have had in mind for the past month what I was going to get him. Well, when we went to Tulsa last weekend, I thought he was going to buy them, so I had to tell him and he said he wanted them now so he could get some use out of them. I got him the new KDIII Thunder basketball shoes. He talks about them constantly and since he is playing in the church league I thought he could use them now!

Of course, like any other of his shoes... we had to special order them. We still don,t understand how they do not make basketball shoes in larger sizes. I mean I understand normal shoes, but basketball shoes! Most basketball players have larger feet.. but anyway they came in the mail today!

We weren't expecting them until next week, so when I got home and saw the package on our porch, I knew Mitch would be excited!

We are relaxing and watching American Idol right now... I really like all the contestants, but I love Scotty!! I also really like Lauren and Casey!

I hope y'all have a good rest of the week and a great weekend! I am ready to spend a few days in Colorado and I will update y'all when I get back on Monday! I may try and get Mitch to post, but I highly doubt that :)

Work, family and birthdays!

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! Last week I had been at my job for a month now.. It's crazy how fast it has gone! We have had a busy week/weekend, so here's a little update...

Thursday was a long day at work, but I love Thursday's! When I got off work, Mitch and I went out for chinese and then he had a basketball game. I have enjoyed watching him play and I also get to watch all the kids that come to watch their dad's play. Since Hutch plays on the team, I always get to to watch Korbyn and Kash. They are so sweet and keep me laughing. Last week, Kash talked with me for 30 min about a Disney cruise and even asked me to come with him... lucky me :)

Friday I went into work for 2 hours and I was suppose to be done by 10:30, but thats not quite what happened. Mitch told me the night before that if I drove his care to work, he would wash and clean mine out for me! So I did, and of course didn't get my office key off of my key chain! So I have a wonderful husband what woke up early on his day off to bring it to me :) So we got a little late start to our weekend, but it all worked out good.

After I was done with work, we made the drive to Tulsa! Since I am going to be in Denver next weekend over my birthday, we went to celebrate with my family this weekend! We had to make a little pit stop on our way to a coffee shop. Getting up at 5 all week, I wasn't going to make it much longer!

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time... They have one in the hospital, so Mitch talks about about how good it is and how much I would like it! And he was right... it was so good! And it held me over until we got to Tulsa!
That night, we had some people over and ordered a bunch of pizzas. It was nice to just hang out and visit with family. Also, that night... My brother found out he got his first car! Him and my dad have been looking for a while now, and my dad got this for him! He was so surprised!

And it has all these neat extra features... I actually know nothing about them, but I am told they are cool..ha! One is the red accents on the inside! I am not very excited it's a 5-speed, but I do love the color!

Saturday, Mitch and I went to the mall and he got me a pedicure for my birthday! I love getting my toes done! After that, we went and picked up my birthday cake! My favorite cake in the world is Ludger's cream cake, it is what we had at our wedding!

That night we went to Los Cabos for dinner. Mitch knows it is one of my favorite places to eat, so he took me there while we were back in Tulsa. Scott and Lane also met us there, it was nice to visit with friends! We spend the evening on the Riverwalk and just enjoyed the beautiful spring weather!!
We also made a little stop at FreshBerry, one of my favorite frozen yogurt places. You can but pints and so we got a big pint of the freshberry tart, for my birthday party on Sunday! Mitch may have got into it a little early...

They also started selling cupcakes and so Mitch bought me one in honor of my birthday!

Sunday, we had my birthday party, and it was so nice to see all my grandparents, etc. My mom also had two of my best friends show up and surprise me! Natalie and Katie came and celebrate with me.. It was so good to spend time with them, it had been way too long!

I had such a great time with my family and friends, and the weekend went by way to fast!
Another exciting thing, my parents got me an iPad for my birthday! I was not expecting it at all, but it will be so nice since I am on the computer so much and traveling for work now. I don't have it yet, but I can't wait to get it and organize it all!
We had a great weekend back in Tulsa and it had been too long since I had been home! I am only working until Wednesday this week and then we are headed to Colorado! Have a great week!

New recipe blog!

Today has been pretty uneventful! Mitch has been at work and I have been relaxing.. trying to prepare for this next week of work.

So I have been contemplating over the past month about creating a cooking/recipe blog. I always have recipes to post, but never seem to post them after I blog, and I always am looking for recipes that I posted on my blog and this will make it easy to find them.

And well... since I had nothing to do today, I finally finished creating it. I am going to try and update it on a regular basis, but we will see. Since I have started work, I don't update as much as I did. I thought it would be a great way to share some good recipes. I know I am always looking for new recipes, so I thought this would be helpful!

Here is the link and I hope you enjoy it!

From my kitchen to yours

Hope y'all had a super Sunday!

Update- Our busy week!

Happy Saturday! I hope all of you are out enjoying this beautiful weather!! We have had a busy, but fun week, so here is a little update on our life!

This was my third week of work, and I am finally getting settled in and beginning to understand everything. I am loving it more everyday and so glad that I enjoy going to work everyday!
Monday, I got home at 5:30 and Mitch didn't get home until 7:45, so I had plenty of time to rest and make dinner. I like having that couple hours before he gets home, so I am not rushed to get dinner made. I made lobster bisque soup. It had always been my favorite soup and so I thought I would try and make it. It is so hard to find a good bowl of lobster bisque at restaurants, so I wasn't expecting it to turn out that good. I was very surprised when Mitch got home and we tried it, it was soooo good! I am hooked on it and it is such an easy recipe. Here is the link to the recipe Lobster Bisque.  You can also add some veggies and I used heavy cream instead of milk... I highly recommend that!

Tuesday Mitch had to be up at the hospital to take some tests, so he came and took me out to lunch. We found a new restaurant that we love in fayetteville. Most of you know, we could live off mexican food, and so of course the first place we tried was mexican and we loved it. It is right by my office and we go there at least once a week!
That night, I went with one of my friends, Jenna, to a get-together our Sunday school class was having for all the girls. There is a girl that just had a baby, so it was kind of a "meet the baby" party. There was lots of yummy food, and it was nice to spend some time getting to know more girls!
Also that night, Mitch surprised me with king cake! Since he lived in New Orleans for a little bit, he use to have it a lot and loves it, so he bought a big one from Rick's Bakery and surprised me with it!! It is so good and if you have never had one, next Mardi Gras, it's a must!

On Thursday, Mitch had his first adjustment! He came in right before I got off and when he was done we went to On The Border for dinner! Once again.. we had mexican :)

Friday, I only had to work for two hours and so I went in from 10-12. It is nice I don't have to work much on Fridays, but I do like getting out and it gives me something to do for a little bit. When I got done, I had lots of errands to run and I also got my ring cleaned!! Our jeweler is right on the square and it is so nice to just be able to drop it off to get cleaned and polished! I love having a clean, shiny ring!!

Mitch worked Friday, but that night when he got home, we went over to Jenna and Bryan's house for pizza! We usually play games, but we ended up just hanging out and talking! We have been doing this the past few weekends and it s so nice to end the work week with some good friends!

Today was so beautiful outside... It was 72 and sunny all day!! This morning, I taught my last tennis class and this afternoon, Jenna, Sam and I went running on the trail! It is going to be nice to have other girls to run with and especially with this weather.. I just love being outside!
This evening, I went to Wal-Mart and have been cleaning the house.

For dinner, I am made garlic and balsamic chicken... I am pretty sure I posted it on here awhile ago, and if you haven't tried it, you should! I am sorry I don't have more recipes to post, I have been lazy in posting them. But I do have a couple new things I have found to really like, so I thought I would share them. The first is Greek Yogurt...

I really like the Chobani brand, but this one is a lot cheaper and it really good! It makes for a perfect snack at work! The next is...

I love this! I am not a milk drinker, but this is really good! I have only had the almond flavor, which is really sweet, but next time I am going to try the original.

Mitch was on call today and unfortunately got called in. He worked yesterday, today and works again tomorrow! I won't get to spend much time with him this week, but we are going to Tulsa next Friday to celebrate my birthday with my family!!!
I have a busy busy week at work, but it should be a lot of fun. We are leaving for Denver in less than two weeks and we are trying to get prepared for it. Also, there is this new gym in the same shopping center as my office, and the doctors are buying all of us gym memberships!! It opens April 1st and is going to be so nice! It am really excited, not only because I get a free membership, but this way Mitch and I can start carpooling to work on the days we both work. We both have to be there at 6:30, but I get off at 5:30 and he gets off at 7, so this gym will give me something to do while I wait for him to get off and it will make me do my workout! Ha!

So that's a little update on us.... We have both been so busy, but it has been a great week!
Have a wonderful Sunday and a great week!

Our Weekend

I hope y'all have enjoyed your weekend! We had a wonderful time with family and friends this weekend!
On Friday, I only had to work for 3 hours and I went in at 9, so I was off by 12! It was so nice. I was exhausted from getting up at 5am all week, so I ran some errands and went home and relaxed until Mitch got home. When he got back from work, we went over to Jenna and Byran's house for pizza and games! After a long week of work, it was nice to hang out with some friends!

Will and Michelle were able to come into town this weekend, so on Saturday we went and had lunch at Marketplace! It is Mitch and I's favorite place and Will and Michelle love it as well, and since they do not get to go much anymore, we all really enjoyed it!

It was so nice getting to spend some time with Michelle! I miss her living right down the road and our very frequent shopping trips :) When we eat at Marketplace, I usually have about 3 or 4 different things I always get, but I thought I would try something new. I got the Raspberry Chicken and it was sooo good. It is my new favorite thing to get there! And yes, we got a chocolate mess for dessert!

Since we always do the "two can dine" meal, we get an mini appetizer and mini dessert. which they really aren't mini at all! So this is the mini mess, and it is the perfect size for two people!

After lunch, the boys went to Best Buy and dropped Michelle and I off to shop! We always love shopping together, but seem to get into a little trouble. We LOVE to shop :) Michelle got some cute home decor and I found some shirts for work. I can't seem to have enough work clothes!

The boys we tired of waiting on us, so we left and went to Sams. We spent over an hour in Sam's and between all four of us trying to get stuff, it was a little crazy! We love their fruit and Mitch and I go though it so fast! So we stocked up and now I can take some to work!

That night we went over to Mitch's parents to celebreate Michelle's mom's birthday. Since Will and Michelle do not get to come home often, they got all their friends together for dinner, so they could see them all.

Today had been a pretty relaxing day. We went to church and Sunday School then we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Pinnacle! Mitch and I came home and have been relaxing all day. We both have to work tomorrow, and have had a busy weekend, so we didn't want to do anything but stay in and do nothing!

Last week, Mitch got to come into the office and have is patient exam, and I said I was going to do a post about it. I did mine last week and have started my weekly or should I say daily adjustments! After going through my new patient exam and getting all my x-rays done, I could tell there was something wrong, just by the way they were acting. When the doctors finally talked to me, they told me I have scoliosis. They showed me my x-rays and my spine was so curved! I have about at 20 degree curve in my lower spine and you aren't suppose to have any. They told me at about 18 degrees most doctors want you in a back brace and at 35-40 degrees they start looking into spine surgery. Well fortunately for me they believe in natural care and so I will not be in a back brace. They base how many times you come in on how bad your back is. There are four stages in the correcting a curved spine: intense, moderate, low, and lifestyle.
Intense is the worse and you have to get adjusted 3-4 times a week and decreasing until you get to lifestyle, which is when you are corrected, but you get adjusted every once and a while to maintain a good and healthy spine. They relate that phase to getting your teeth cleaned every 6 months, so they can stay healthy.
So I am in the intense phase right now, getting adjusted 4 times a week. While you are in the intense phase, they told me expect to be sore since they are trying to move and correct me and my body wants to keep going back to what it was like. And let me tell you, I have already experienced that! Getting adjusted does not hurt at all, it actually feels very good, but afterwards I felt like my whole body had the aches! It is crazy! They expect me to be in this phase for about 5 weeks, and during it, I can hardly do any activity. They said golf, light tennis and walking was fine, but if I was to run not to go far or overdue it. This was not good news with the races I have coming up. So I guess the races I have within the next couple months I will only be able to do the 5k's. I am kind of bummed, but I have done a lot of races in the past and their will always be races in the future, and maybe I will be in less pain when I train for them now. I am trying to be positive about it the situation, but it can be hard. I am very thankful that I got this job and receive free care, because if not we would be paying around $3,500 to fix my back. So I guess I am in the right place! Mitch had his exam, and gets his first adjustment tuesday! I am excited he will be coming into the office more frequently!

So thats a little update on our weekend! I am not ready for another week of getting up at 5am, but it does help I love my job! I also booked my first event last week, so I am pretty excited about that!
I hope y'all had a fun and relaxing weekend, and have a magnificent Monday!

First week of work!

Happy March!! I still can not believe it is already March! I am so happy for the warmer weather that it is going to bring! I have loved these 60 and 70 degree temperatures lately! Well I have almost survived my first week of work, but more on that later! I will first give you a little update on our lives lately.. I feel that we have been going and going and just so busy lately!

I am going to apologize ahead of time.. I have no pictures. I have been so bad at remembering to charge my camera! But anyways, Last Saturday when Mitch got off work, we went out to dinner and celebrated that we have been married for 8 months!! On one hand I can't believe how fast it has gone, but also, it seems like it has always been like this. It has been the best 8 months and I can't wait for many more!

Sunday, we went to church and sunday school. Mitch and I are really enjoying our bible study and are meeting a lot of people through it! After church we went out to fly a kite. This was not a normal kite and I really just went to see what it was all about.

One of our friends Bryan, just bought this kite. I really don't know how to explain it, but it is huge and it can actually lift you off the ground... kind of weird. But Mitch was excited to fly it and so we went out for about an hour and it was so windy, we spent probably 90% of the time untangling it.

For dinner, we had the Buettemeyers and the Waggoners over! We made chicken spaghetti and for dessert I made Mitch's favorite chocolate cake! It is my mom's recipe and I am pretty sure I have posted it before. After dinner, we watched the Oscars and played a game! It was a lot of fun!

Now more onto my first week of work... well I guess my first full week. Last week I got to work from home and it was so nice! That is one of the benefits about working for a family practice, they will take vacations and I can do the same or I can work form home and get paid.
My week has been busy, but so fun! I never thought I would ever like a job as much as I do. I actually look forward to going to work everyday! It has long hours and yes there are lots of times where I am so exhausted all I do is come home and go to bed! But I could not ask for a better work environment. I knew God had a place for me and he had been preparing them and me for it, but I really had no idea He was planning this. Yesterday, I brought my lunch and stayed in the office. One of the doctors came in and had lunch with me and we talked about our faith the whole time. It was so nice to know that is something that is very important to the people I work for. We also have a bible study in the morning before we open. We read scripture and pray with them, and it is just such a blessing to be around these people all day. It changes the whole atmosphere of the office and I could tell from my first interview there was something different that I liked about the office.

I have been super busy this week and I can't wait until I am finally settled! I am still trying to get into the routine of working everyday. Even though I am enjoying it, it is going to take some time to get use to. I have to be at work at 6:30, but I get Fridays off!!  So it is defiantly worth it!

Mitch is still working on the med-surg floor, and has been wanting to get into the ICU. He finally got approved and is having to take some classes and tests before he can move floors. So he is working on that and should be an ICU nurse within the next month or so! It is always what he has wanted to do, so he is really excited!

Mitch is off tomorrow, but he is going to come take me to lunch! Also, we get all free care since I work there and Mitch has been wanting to go to a chiropractor for a while now. Because he is so tall everything is low for him at work and he is constantly bending over, so he has been having bad back pain. So he is going in for his consultation tomorrow afternoon!
I had mine yesterday. They make me go through it all, so that when I talk with patients, I can tell them first hand what it's all about. After the initial consultation and adjustment, I can then choose if I want to continue getting adjusted. I had a very interesting/shocking experience, and once Mitch gets his I will do a post and tell y'all about it!

I hope y'all are having a great week and enjoy your weekend!! Will and Michelle are coming home this weekend, so I am sooooo excited to spend some time with them!!!
