My Best Friend's Wedding

This past week, we went to Dallas for Elizabeth's Wedding! I have been looking forward to it for a long time! So Thursday we headed to TX and I was able to spend some time with her and help her with last minute things before things officially got crazy! Friday night was the rehersal and dinner and it was so fun! I just loved everything about this whole weekend. Everything was very Elizabeth and so much fun!

We headed to the Rehersal, which was about 45 minutes away from her house, and got there early enough to walk through everything and go over decorations, etc before the crowd arrived. When everyone got there, we ran through the rehersal several times and headed to dinner.

She got married at Chesnut Square, and it is this old littel chapel and it was surrounded by victorian style houses. It was so pretty! We had the dinner at one of the houses. They had Babe's caterted in and it was delicious!! I heard everyone taling about this place and going on and on about how good it was all week, so I was excited to try it, and not only that but it was down home cooking, which is my favorite! So if you are ever in Texas, it is a must try!! Mitch and I loved it!!

We finished up some last minute decorations and then heaed back to Elizabeth's house. Some of the girls stayed with her that night and it was fun to stay up and visit. We didnt have to be up until around 8:00, so it was nice to sleep in a little bit.

We got up and got ready and headed to Elizabeth's Bridal Bruch! It was at a friend of her mom's house and was so pretty!! They had more food than you could imagine... casseroles, fruit, yogurt, cinamon rolls, cheese, and so much more! Everything was decorated so nice with all yellow and gray!! And of course we had homemade iced coffee. Yum!

We left the brunch and went back to Elizabeth's to start getting ready. We got our hair and make-up done and then all headed to the church. We got there and finished up getting ready, got dressed and took pictures!! It was super hot outside, so we didnt take lots of pictures! By the time pictures were over all of our hair was flat and we had to run back inside and touch it up before the ceremony.

It was suppose to start at 5:00pm, but there was a huge wreck on 75 north and people were still showing up right at 5, so they decided to delay the wedding until 5:15 since so many people were coming from that way.

It was the sweetest ceremony and I was so blessed to be matron of honor. After the ceremony, we did pictures and then on to the reception! It was such a fun reception. They had italian catereted in for dinnner and half of it was inside and half was outside. The dance floor was outside and it was the perfect night for it!! I loved getting to see all my OBU friends and I cant believe she is finally married!! I am so happy for her and Kevin!

They left the reception a little after 9 and Mitch and I had to follow them to the hotel, so we didnt get there until around 10:00pm and then on our way back to Rockwall, we got stopped by a huge wreck, so needless to say we didnt get back home until really late and I was exhausted!!!

Sunday, we slept in and went and had Mexican on the Harbor in Rockwall with Will and Michelle. I was dreading making the drive home, so I was trrying to delay it as long as possible!
We didnt get home until around 9 last night and I went straight to bed. I dont think I have ever been so tired. It was all worth it and I would it again in a heart beat, but this morning came way too fast and not to mention, it was storming when I woke up so it took all I have in me to get out of bed. I was so tempted to use a vacation day!

Hope y'all have a wonderful week!!

Razorfest!

*I wrote this Monday and forgot to publish it.... sorry :)

I hope y'all had a good weekend! We were super busy this weekend, but it was all things I have been looking forward to!!

Friday, I went into work witht the intentions of getting off around 12 or so and well that didnt go as planned. Fridays are usually super slow on campus and we get off pretty early. Last Friday, I got assigned a project and it had to be done by then end of they day. So needless to say I was at work a lot later than I usually am on weekdays. But Mitch was working and I had nothing to do, so I really didnt mind. I hate slow work days. I wold rather be super busy and have stuff to keep me oppupied all day. I remember starting around 10am on the project and the next time I looked at the clock was 3:00!! I literlly thought it was about 12- I missed lunch and felt like I was in a time warp. It was crazy!! It was so nice that the afternoon flew by and it left like I was at work for about 2 hours that day.

I got home that night and crashed. I didnt have a bad, but extreamly stressfull/busy week at work and I was ready for the weekend!! With this semster coming to an end, it is crazy busy and ther are tons of deadlines.
Saturday, I was able to sleep in and then go get my hair done. I was really excited becasue I missed my last appt, and my hair lady gets so booked up, I had to just wait for this appt. So it had been 4 months since I got my hair done... It needed it!! After I was done we heaed to Fayetteville for Razorfest!

They have a run, vendors, food, everything you can imagine out fron of the staduim and then it ends with the Red/White spring game. Its all free and is so much fun.. we had a blast! It made me really excited for this fall and for football to start. With all the drama going on around campus, it was so nice to see all the support for the Razorbacks!

After the game, Mitch had a tennis match at Pinnacle. I went and took Bella out and watched. It is so pretty and I always enjoy going out there. It was the perfect day to be outside all day.

It has been in the upper 80's for the past month and they kept saying since Saturday was going to be in mid 60's it was going to feel cold and people where going to be in sweats and jackets at the football game. Well they were wrong. It was so warm!! It was nice to be able to be outside all day and not fry, or be cold :)

After his match we came home and cooked mexican at home. I love making tacos and fajitas at home, and Sams sells the best white queso! Sunday was relaxing for us, We had nothing panned becasue Mitch was scheduled to work, but he got called off. We went to church and were able to hang out with Michelle for a little bit. We took Bella to the dog park and just hung out and enjoyed the weather.

It was a great weekend and I now this week is super busy as I prepare for Elizabeths wedding this weekend. I am only working a few days, but they are going to be pretty busy. We have so many events/parties this week and that means lots of free food and snacks all week... Just what I need right before a wedding. But who could turn down these cupcakes! They were so cute!

We get stuff like this brought to our office about 3 times a week! Yum! Then we are headed to Dallas!! I am so excited for all the wedding festivites this week!! I love weddings and I am so excited to be a part of her and Kevin's big day!

Hope you have a great week!

My Favorite Things

So I saw this blog post a while back about having a favorite things party- where you throw a party and everyone brings their favorite thing (something either they have always loved, or just recently discovered and can't live without). You bring one for every person there, so usually you put a limit on the cost, since you have to bring multiples.
Well, they other day, I saw a blog that did a favorite things post instead of having a party. Although I think the party would be a blast, mainly just becasue I love planning parties, but I thought this would be a fun way to share "my favorite things" without having to purchase them and I dont know that I could limit the down to just one. I have multiple "favorite" things I feel like I cant live without and I figure if they make my life easier- why not share them :)
Some of these things are super simple and even kind of funny/random.. but I love them and would reccommend them to anyone! Here are my top 6 favorite things!

1. Wet Brush- If you have not heard of this, it has saved my life! I have the thickest hair you could possibly have and it use to literally take me about 15-20 min to brush out my hair when I got out of the shower. It would immediately put me in a bad mood every time I started to brush out my hair. I don't really remember where I got this brush, but I have had it for about a year and love it! It literally goes striaght through my messy, tangled wet hair and makes it so easy. I dont know if anyone else really has this issue, but with as thick as hair as I have and as long as it is, I am so thankful for this brush!

2. Purfume/Lip gloss Set- I love love love this! I am obsesed with lip gloss and always have it on. Well a couple Christmases ago, my mom got this for me and I have received a new one every Christmas! One side is lip gloss and the other is Perfume. Mine is Michael Kors, I am not sure if they make them with other perfumes. Michael Kors is my favorite, so I love it! I keep with with me everywhere I go and everytime I pull it out in public peole always compliment on it. This is a great invention, and dont leve the house without it!

3.Curling Wand- Okay, so most of you know I have nataurally wavy hair and I cant do anything with it. I either have to striaghten the heck out of it to last all day, which takes forever, or lately I have just been sleeping on it wet and getting up I the morning and curling it. Curling it actually takes a lot less time then striaghtening it since it already has a lot of wave to it. I have tried to curl my hair for years and since I have such thick hair nothing ever works and my hair never held curl. Well a few years ago I learned how to curl my hair with my striaghtner and I swear by it! It take a while to learn how to do without frying your hair and burning yourself, but it is worth it. It took me a long time to be able to do it, but now that I know how it takes me about 15 min total, and I have a lot of hair! Well just past month, I have discovered the curling wand! It is just a curling iron without the clasp. You wrap your hair around it and hold it for a few seconds then let it down and it is amazing! I am still in the process of trying to make it look okay to wear out in public, but I am getting there. It is going to take some practice, just like the striaghtner did. It creates a different type of curl and depending on how tight or how much hair you wrap you can get all different effects. I was extreamly skeptical at first becasue thinking about it doesnt seem like it would be able to curl your hair and it stay. Well even though I dont have it down perfect, I can garuntee you the curls stay! If you have board striaght hair that doesnt hold a curl, I can promise you this will work! It just takes time and practice to get it to look like you want!! So if you want your hair to be curled and stay curled, and you have stright hair... try this. You wont be disappointed! There are a gazillion brands out there, but I was recommened to get Hot Tools and it was only $55 (compared to the Chi's and other "higher" brands around $100) and I would recommend it! It works awesome!!! I also read on another BLOG about anothe brand that works good. (I just have never tried it). On a side note- CHECK OUT THAT BLOG! I could go on and on- I'm in love with all the hair tutorials! Back to the wand- There is also differnt size wands depending on how tight/large you want the curl. There are 3 sizes in the Hot Tools brand and I got the middle one. I like it and it works great, but I wish I would have gotten the largest one due to my length and thickness of hair.

4. Vera Bradely Metropolitian Bag- Now this is something that I prob could live without, but it makes my life so much easier!  I always have so much stuff I take to work with me and I was taking my purse and another bag with all my snacks, planner, iPad, etc. So a girl at work had this bag and I fell in love! Mitchs parents got it for me for my birthday! It holds eveything and more! I just pretty much use it as a purse now. I bought the mini hipster and I use that as my purse/wallet and put it in the metro bag! So when I need to go run an errand or something I just grab the mini hipster and go! It is the perfect solution for me. I take it everywhere and I highly recommend it if you are like me and take lots of "stuff" with you everywhere you go!

5. Tervis Tumbler- I am obsessed with these! I have two and I use them on a daily basis!! I have a smaller leopard print one and a large Arkansas one. I always take my smaller leporard one with coffee in it every morning and I fill my AR with sweet tea in the afternoons! I love that they make them in different sizes and that you can put hot and cold in them. Mitch even loves them! He has a large Green Bay one and he takes it everywhere he goes. They are great!

6. Erin Condren Life Planner- If you have not heard of Erin Condren- go check out her Website. You will most likely find lot of things you "need" like I do, but this planner is amazing! I am ocd and I have to have a planner at all times! My husbad always makes fun of me about how orgazined I am. I remember dates very well and I always have my calendar out and out everything little thing on it! I make lists for my lists... and I wish I was kidding ha! So now that you know my love to organization, my obsession with planners should make sense to you. I could ramble on and on about her Life Planner, but just take my word for it and go check it out. Its pretty amazing.. and my guess is you will be ordering one every year from now on too :) I would be lost without mine.. I literally take it everywhere!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. I thought it was a fun idea and if y'all have your "favorite things" and want to share- please do!

Dallas, showers and golf!

Happy Thursday!! I have been lacking on blogging this past week.. sorry about that! I am in the process of working on several post about what we've been up to, so more to come soon!

This past weekend we were in Dallas!! I just love Texas... more so that my closest friends are there. I miss them so much and cherish the time I get to spend with them when I am down there!
I only worked half a day Friday and then Mitch picked me up and we headed to Texas. We got in that evening and went to dinner with Will and Michelle at our favorite mexican place... Chilosos. We go there everything we visit. It is soooo good!! We just hung out the rest of the night and took Bella and their dogs on a walk. They needed to run off some energy, Bella wasnt a fan of the 6 hour car ride!

Saturday morning, Will had a bike race, so we took the dogs and cheered him on. After his race we went to lunch at a burger place and it was really good too.

Afer lunch Michelle and I went to Elizabeths house, by the way is really close to Will and Michelle's house. I love that they live so close now. We helped with some wedding stuff, and then got ready for Elizabeth's shower. We went to her shower, which was adorable and so fun! I was glad to be able to see some friends from school and catch up!

After the shower, we headed back to Elizabeths house and helped with more wedding stuff. I remember how stressful it was a few weeks before the wedding trying to get all those little last minute things done. I could not have imagined not having those 4 weeks from when I graduated to when I got married. It was so nice to be done with school and have a month to finalize everything without the stress of anything else. Even though that was the busiest and most stressful time, I wouldn't have traded that last month at home with my family for anything.

We ended up staying up til about 2:00am and so the morning came way to quick! We headed back to Michelle's house that morning and then went and ate a place called Cotton Patch for lunch. It was delicious!!!! I loved it. It was down home cookin.. we all got chicken fried chicken and their sweet tea was to die for! For dessert we went and got sno cones and then by about 2:30, headed back home to AR.

It was such a fun trip and I cant wait to go back in a week and a half for the wedding!! I told Mitch, I really want him to get into shcool down there! I would love so muhc to be by Michelle and Elizabeth during that stressful time period in our lives. His school is going to be so intense and I dont think I have even come to terms how hard it is going to be on me. It isnt just a normal grad school, and there are so many more and intense tings he has to go through to become a CRNA. All the school are different, but with the one in Texas, one of his whole clinical sessions wil be in a different state and that is for 2 months!! I dont know if I can handle that... so have a strong supposrt system will be crucial for me!

This week, we have just been both getting back to work. Mitch was off for 6 days and Wednesday was his first day back. Since he had Monday and Tuesday off- I took Tuesday afternoon off and we went and played golf! It was the perfect day for it :) We have been playing a lot lately. Since I get off at 4:30, when I get home we head up to the course and play 9 holes in the evening!

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather!

A - Z Survey!

I came across this survey the other day on a blog I follow and I thought it was a fun idea!!

A is for age: 24! Just had a birthday at the end of last month and it feels weird to say 24. I cant beleive 25 is next... that seems super weird!

B is for breakfast today: Just my usual... Dunkin Donuts hazelnut coffee. I can't start my day without it :)

C is for currently craving: If you know me at all I get the weirdest cravings ever and they are bad! My husband always gives me a hard time and tells me if these are what my cravings are like now, then he is worried for when I am pregnant! Ha! It is almost safe to safe I am always craving, mexican, chinese, or bbq at all times! Today it is Mexican!

D is for dinner tonight: Yes, we are going out for Mexican tonight! We are going to our favorite little hole-in-the-wall place- Las Palmas! I cant wait!

E is for favorite type of exercise: I love to exercise! I could go on and on about excercises I love, but my all time favorite is running. I started running when I was in high school and found it to be a great stress reliver for me in college. I have met some of my best friends through running! I love more than anything to train and run races. I also love tennis! I have played since I was about 5 and even though right now I am going through a little bit of a burned out stage, I still love the sport.  I played all throughout high school and college ans now I am playing on a womens league. I thought I was ready to start playing again, but I think I need a little longer. I enjoy playing at random, but having set practice and matches is too much for me right now. I loved everything about college tennis, but it was a little much at times. I can't complain too much though... I met my husband the very first day I was on campus, move in day, at a tennis party. So it was worth it :)

F is for an irrational fear: I dont know if this is really an irrational fear, but I am claustrophobic.

G is for gross food: There really arent that many foods I dont like, but one that comse to mind is bell peppers! I cant stand them. I dont like them raw, cooked or in things. Gross!

H is for hometown: Sand Springs, OK.  I was born in Tulsa and lived in Tulsa untl I was 5, then moved to SS. I lived there through high school and then when I went to college, my parents moved to Jenks, OK. So now that is where I call home. I loved SS and growing up there, but I would not move back. I love Jenks, it is such a fun little town... and its so close to Tulsa. I love OK and I hope to move back there in the future!!

I is for something important: I could go on and on about things that I consider important, but with Easter just happening, (not that this should only be mentioned at Easter) but my relationship with my God is hands down the most impotant thing in my life. I am so thankful I serve a living God and continue to be amazed with what he is teaching me and the plans he has for my life. I am blessed.

J is for current favorite jam:  Music is something I love. I always have it on, in the car, shower, getting ready, cooking, etc. That is the one thing Mitch said he never knew about me until we lived together. He now knows my LOVE for music! I like all music, but country is my "jam". And if I had to pick one- right now I am a little obsessed with Jake Owen. My pandora, ipod, computer, spotify, CD's in my car... really anything, you name it, is always on counrty music!

K is for kids: I do not have any kids as of now, but do plan to have kids in the next 3-5 years. My dream has always been to be a mom, and I can't wait for that time period in our life. But for now, we have a sweet little goldendoodle, Bella, and I love her like my kid :)

L is for current location: I currently live in Bentonville, AR. We will have lived here two years in June and I love it! I love the atmosphere and how outdoorsy the community is. Mitch is currently applying to schools for CRNA and within the next year or year and a half, we will move to where he gets into school (prying for somewhere close). And then I dont really know what are plans are after he graduates, but as of now, we both want to return to Oklahoma!!! :)

M is for the most recent way you spent money: Well, at this specific moment, I have an obession with Vera Bradely and I have bought one to many bags, purses, etc! Also, I have purchased lots of new spring clothes... But in my defense, I had birthday money to spend :)

N is for something you need: I know this is out there and completely impossible, but I need more hours in the day! I get home from work, run, cook dinner, eat, and usually take Bell for a walk and thn I wish I had time to relax a little and enjoy the evening. I need about 4 more hours in thr day :)

O is for occupation: I just recently took a job at the University of Arkansas as an Administravie Specialist in the college of Education. I am 100% loving every minute of it! I work for and with the best people and couln't be happier :) I actaully met a lady here about my same age and she is an admissions counselor and is going to be taking another position and wants to know if I am interested becasue she wants to recommend me. I would love that job, but one of the downfalls is traveling. (that is why she is leaving the job). I traveled a lot in my last job and hated every minute of it. If it weren't a lot of traveling I would have been all over it. But I am very happy with what I am doing now and she said she will notify me if the local NWA counselor positions comes up.

P is for pet peeve: Chewing with your mouth open... drives me crazy! And people who dont use proper grammer, espcially when writting!!

Q is for a quote: I love this quote..it desribes my life so well!   "A southern girl is a girl who knows full and well that she can open a door for herself but prefers for the gentleman to do it because it demonstrates a sense of respect. After all, every girl wants to be treated like a princess. We know how to make sweet tea and apple pie while telling you everything about any football team. We pick our battles and fight with the heart of a pit bull while still maintaining grace and elegance. Our mystique is that of a soft-spoken, mild-mannered southern bell who could direct an army, loves her momma and will always be daddy's little girl."

R is for random fact about you: I won't eat the end of a hotdog.... weird I know..

S is for favorite healthy snack: I love to cut up all my favorite fruits and make a big "fruit salad" I do this every summer and eat on it for about a week!

T is for favorite treat: This is not a good question for me.. I love snack food! But if it had to pick, I could not live without hot tamales and popcorn.

U is for something that makes you unique: I am extremely organized and cant go anywhere without my planner.

V is for favorite vegetable: I love asparugus and squash!

W is for today’s workout: Todays workout is a 5 mile run!

X is for X-rays you’ve had: I have had tons of x-rays.. the most probably on my ankle. I broke it my jr year of hs, and then I re-injured it my senior year of college. I have had the worst ankle problems. But most recent.. I had x-rays at the dentist this morning.

Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Yesterdays highlight was I got off work around 2:30 and spend the rest of the afternoon on the golf course! Also, I played my best round to date! I know it wont be like that next time I go play, but I am going to enjoy it right now!

Z is for your time zone: Central.. always has been and hope always will be :)

Weekend update

Hasn't this weather been gorgeous!! I love summertime more than anything, and I feel like we are getting an early start! This past weekend Mitch had to work and I was in need of a lazy weekend.
Friday night we took Bella out to memorial park. I love that we live so close! We can run to it, and then let Bella enjoy the little pond they have. After that, our plans were to eat the dinner I had made that was still in the crockpot, and then go to the movies! Well we lost track of time at the park and didn't get back home until 30 min before the movie was suppose to start. So we put the dinner in the fridge, changed real quick and headed to the movies! I guess thats one way to cut out calories!

We went and saw the Hunger Games and it was awesome! I read the books and so I really enjoyed it! Mitched loked the movies as well, but I felt like I was havign to emplain little things throughout the whole thing, because although the movie did follow he book well, there are so many more little details in the book! I mean, books are always better- you get somuch more character development in a book than you do in a movie. But I am already looking forward to the next movie!!

Saturday, I literally spent all day outside with Bella. We got up and went up to the square for the Bentonville half mearathon that was going on. It made me miss running races so bad! We ran it last year, and I am determined to do it again next year! I have always enjoyed running, and when I got my first job here in bentonville, I didnt run as much as I use to. Over the past several months I have really gotten back into it and I am loving it! I look forward to my run every evening when I get home!
Then we headed over to Crystal Brigdes and walked those trails then headed home to have lunch. After lunch we went on a run through orchards park and I let Bella play in the pond for a while. We came back and played in the back yard for the rest of the day! Ijust love this weather and it makes me want to do everytyhing outside.

Sunday we did the same thing! We didnt spend as much time outside becasue I got a pretty bad sunburn  on saturday, but we did get out for a run! It was so nice to relax and have no plans all weekend, these next several weekends are going to be super busy!

Hope y'all are having a good week. I saw a fun blog idea the other day that I think I am going to do here soon! Keep checking back!
