Well, the long weekend has come to an end. School has started back and we don't get another break until mid-October. I may have to use some of my personal days between now and then. Ha!
This weekend was just what I needed. It consisted of not doing much of anything. Sunday after church, we went out to eat with our life group and then back home. We didn't really have any plans but we both laid down on the couch and the next thing you know it was 3:30! We had slept for over two hours. I usually don't like sleeping that long for a nap, but we have both had so much going on and have been feeling extra tired, it was one of those much needed, no regret kind of naps.
When we finally woke up, we worked out and took Bella on a long, hot walk. That night for dinner we met up with my best friend, Taylor and her bf Warren for pizza at Andolinis. We always love hanging out with them and have such a good time.

Monday, we slept in, once again... I needed a day to sleep and not worry about having to wake up for something. So when I did get up and around, I walked Bella, put dinner in the crock pot and made a quick trip to the grocery store. Mitch woke up by 1 and we spent the rest of the afternoon at my parents pool. It didn't even hit 90, so it made being outside all day bearable.
I do have to brag about dinner. It was my friends recipe and it turned out so good. I have to admit, while it was cooking, I was very skeptical, but It's super easy and makes a wonderful dinner! All you do it throw 4 pork chops, can of cream of chicken soup and a package of ranch dip mix in the crock pot. It literally took me two minutes to do this. And then cook on low for 6 hours. I made homemade mashed potatoes to go with it and we both fell in love with this meal, and the fact that it is so easy.
Mitch has this week off and then he starts Friday on day shift! I am so excited, I actually don't really think I remember how nice it was when he was on days. I am just so ready to get back to a normal life. Most people don't realize how much it not only affects the person on nights, but the spouse too. It has been really hard and I want to thank those who stuck with me and helped me through this hard time.

We have a pretty chill week. I got my hair cut this afternoon and Mitch has a tennis match Wednesday. I am hoping and praying and doing whatever else possible, that my kids are better this week. I want to be positive but, I just have a feeling it's going to be a rough year. Although its been hard, I am thankful for these tough times. As weird as that sounds, I need this and it is so reassuring that I still want to teach.
I hope y'all enjoy your short work week!
