Last week, I took another one of my certification tests and since it is a 4 hour test, I went ahead and took the whole day off. Mitch took me to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate.
Last week was teacher appreciation week at school and I am always so surprised how much are parents do for us. It is unreal, y'all! I get spoiled ALL week and it is so nice. I got flowers everyday, gifts, my favorite snacks brought to me, lunch everyday, and so much more! I know its not about all the "stuff", but it really is nice to be appreciated. We spend so much time investing in these kids and it is nice to have parents that support you.
We did get one (hopefully) last snow storm. We really weren't expecting it, but it happened and we were out of school for 3 more days!!! We are way over our built in days and before these last 3 days, we had voted to add on 40 min to each day to help- now since we have had 3 more snow days, I have no idea how they will fix that. And let me tell you- those 40 minutes are CRAZY!! I feel like my day is never going to end! Luckily we are only that through the beginning of April, then we are back to normal hours.
Also, this is random, but I just love the idea, so I had to share! One of my teachers I work with had a jewelry party the other night, and honestly I wasn't really up to going. But I did and oh I am so glad I did. It is called Origami Owl and you can google it to learn more, but I ended up making one and I LOVE it!! It is basically a locket-you can pick your size and then you buy charms that represent you and put in. It is like a very personalized necklace or braclet. Here is mine... I chose the medium locket and put in 4 charms- they were a dog, golf flag, cross and a wedding ring. I thought it turned out pretty cute!! You can make them as big or small as you like and add as many charms.
So our March has been pretty good so far, until this past weekend. I had my sister-in-law in town. She got here thursday night and we spent all day friday shopping. We went to Utica, the mall and many other stores. It is always so fun to shop with her! Saturday we got up really early and made the drive to Bentonville for one of our good friends wedding showers. We made it there and they shower was wonderful! After the shower, I started to feel kind of sick. We went and had lunch on the square thinking it might help, but nope. My day of shopping and enjoying my second home turned into me leaving as quick as possible to get home. I got home around 3:30 and I have never felt so sick. That was the longest drive ever! I rant to the pharmacy, got some medicine and went to bed. I ended up going to the doctor later and they were pretty sure I had the flu. I have been on medicine and no work since last thursday. I am praying I feel good enough to go back tomorrow!!
So thats how our March started. We leave for Colorado in 3 days!! We could not be more excited to spend a week in the mountains with some wonderful new friends! And the best part is it is going to be sunny and in the 40's the whole time we are there- that makes perfect skiing weather! I'm sure with being sick and trying to pack I will not blog again until after our trip. So have a safe, fun and wonderful spring break y'all!!
