I hope y'all have enjoyed your weekend! We had a wonderful time with family and friends this weekend!
On Friday, I only had to work for 3 hours and I went in at 9, so I was off by 12! It was so nice. I was exhausted from getting up at 5am all week, so I ran some errands and went home and relaxed until Mitch got home. When he got back from work, we went over to Jenna and Byran's house for pizza and games! After a long week of work, it was nice to hang out with some friends!
Will and Michelle were able to come into town this weekend, so on Saturday we went and had lunch at Marketplace! It is Mitch and I's favorite place and Will and Michelle love it as well, and since they do not get to go much anymore, we all really enjoyed it!
It was so nice getting to spend some time with Michelle! I miss her living right down the road and our very frequent shopping trips :) When we eat at Marketplace, I usually have about 3 or 4 different things I always get, but I thought I would try something new. I got the Raspberry Chicken and it was sooo good. It is my new favorite thing to get there! And yes, we got a chocolate mess for dessert!
Since we always do the "two can dine" meal, we get an mini appetizer and mini dessert. which they really aren't mini at all! So this is the mini mess, and it is the perfect size for two people!
After lunch, the boys went to Best Buy and dropped Michelle and I off to shop! We always love shopping together, but seem to get into a little trouble. We LOVE to shop :) Michelle got some cute home decor and I found some shirts for work. I can't seem to have enough work clothes!
The boys we tired of waiting on us, so we left and went to Sams. We spent over an hour in Sam's and between all four of us trying to get stuff, it was a little crazy! We love their fruit and Mitch and I go though it so fast! So we stocked up and now I can take some to work!
That night we went over to Mitch's parents to celebreate Michelle's mom's birthday. Since Will and Michelle do not get to come home often, they got all their friends together for dinner, so they could see them all.
Today had been a pretty relaxing day. We went to church and Sunday School then we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Pinnacle! Mitch and I came home and have been relaxing all day. We both have to work tomorrow, and have had a busy weekend, so we didn't want to do anything but stay in and do nothing!
Last week, Mitch got to come into the office and have is patient exam, and I said I was going to do a post about it. I did mine last week and have started my weekly or should I say daily adjustments! After going through my new patient exam and getting all my x-rays done, I could tell there was something wrong, just by the way they were acting. When the doctors finally talked to me, they told me I have scoliosis. They showed me my x-rays and my spine was so curved! I have about at 20 degree curve in my lower spine and you aren't suppose to have any. They told me at about 18 degrees most doctors want you in a back brace and at 35-40 degrees they start looking into spine surgery. Well fortunately for me they believe in natural care and so I will not be in a back brace. They base how many times you come in on how bad your back is. There are four stages in the correcting a curved spine: intense, moderate, low, and lifestyle.
Intense is the worse and you have to get adjusted 3-4 times a week and decreasing until you get to lifestyle, which is when you are corrected, but you get adjusted every once and a while to maintain a good and healthy spine. They relate that phase to getting your teeth cleaned every 6 months, so they can stay healthy.
So I am in the intense phase right now, getting adjusted 4 times a week. While you are in the intense phase, they told me expect to be sore since they are trying to move and correct me and my body wants to keep going back to what it was like. And let me tell you, I have already experienced that! Getting adjusted does not hurt at all, it actually feels very good, but afterwards I felt like my whole body had the aches! It is crazy! They expect me to be in this phase for about 5 weeks, and during it, I can hardly do any activity. They said golf, light tennis and walking was fine, but if I was to run not to go far or overdue it. This was not good news with the races I have coming up. So I guess the races I have within the next couple months I will only be able to do the 5k's. I am kind of bummed, but I have done a lot of races in the past and their will always be races in the future, and maybe I will be in less pain when I train for them now. I am trying to be positive about it the situation, but it can be hard. I am very thankful that I got this job and receive free care, because if not we would be paying around $3,500 to fix my back. So I guess I am in the right place! Mitch had his exam, and gets his first adjustment tuesday! I am excited he will be coming into the office more frequently!
So thats a little update on our weekend! I am not ready for another week of getting up at 5am, but it does help I love my job! I also booked my first event last week, so I am pretty excited about that!
I hope y'all had a fun and relaxing weekend, and have a magnificent Monday!
