Well we survived camp! J/K... We had an absolute blast. We always look forward to it and it always goes by way too fast. We just love that we are able to still help out with Studio 412 and the youth. We really miss living in Bentonville for that reason. We are so thankful Hutch and Maegan keep us the loop and invite us to attend their activities! We will, of course, be going to camp again next year and I think we are going to join them on their mission trip as well. I cant wait!
We left early friday morning and spend Friday-Tuesday at camp. We were so glad to be home Wednesday and relax and catch up on some much needed sleep. I had a group of Freshman girls and fell in love with them. I think it is so important for girls to have mentors in their life, and I hope I was able to help just one of them. Unfortunately one of my sweetest girls, Danielle sprained her ankle on the first day... so Laura and I ended up taking her to the ER and yes, we missed a day of camp, but I was able to really bond with her and I think it honestly was my favorite parts of the whole week. She was able to really open up and I loved having that time with her. Not to mention we may have been at the sketchiest hospital ever and we have some GREAT stories. I sometimes forget I am 10 years older than them.. I think of Danielle as a good friend, not just a girl I had in my group. I am thankful for her friendship and look forward to hanging out with her when I am back in b'ville.
I could go on and on about camp and how awesome it was but I would be writing forever. We had some amazing experiences and lots of new friendships were made. We had the same band and speaker as last year and I was super excited, especially about the speaker. He is my favorite! His name is Ryan Fontenot and he is amazing. He really speaks and challenges the students, but also the adults as well. He is very straight forward and makes you feel uncomfortable at times, but he is so good.
Like I said, I could never explain our week at camp, it is just something you have to experience, but I can say it will be the best part of my summer. Even though we do not attend that church every sunday anymore, every adult there treats us like we never left. We are finally getting caught up on sleep and unpacking. We only had one full day at home when we got back from NOLA and when we left for camp and now we have 7 days before we leave for Colorado for a week. So I am doing lots of laundry, errands, etc to try and be ready for our next trip. This summer needs to slow down... It is flying by way too fast! Also, sorry I am not posting many pics from our trips... I post them all on my instagram if you wanna see :)
Have an awesome week!
